Our Mission

British Traditions Academy was founded with a singular purpose: to preserve, celebrate, and share the extraordinary cultural heritage of Great Britain with learners around the world. We believe that understanding traditions is key to understanding the soul of a nation.

Through our comprehensive educational programs, we aim to bridge the gap between past and present, ensuring that these precious customs and ceremonies continue to thrive in modern society.

Our Story

Established in 2018 by a team of cultural historians and education specialists, British Traditions Academy emerged from a growing concern about the gradual erosion of traditional knowledge in our rapidly changing world.

Our founders, led by Professor Margaret Thornbury and Dr. James Whitfield, recognized the urgent need for a dedicated institution that could systematically document, preserve, and teach British traditions to both domestic and international audiences.

Since our inception, we have educated over 15,000 students from 47 countries, created partnerships with museums and cultural institutions across the UK, and developed the most comprehensive curriculum on British traditions available anywhere.
